Job Description
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or related Engineering field.
1+ years of experience in electromechanical V&V testing (medical devices preferred).
Experience with medical device standards (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA guidelines) is a plus.
Required Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, force gauges, etc.).
Ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical requirements.
Familiarity with test automation, data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW), and ALM systems.
Basic troubleshooting and soldering/rework skills for electromechanical systems.
As a Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of electromechanical medical devices throughout the product development lifecycle. You will work under supervision to develop and execute test protocols, analyze results, and support cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality medical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and document verification test methods, protocols, and reports for components and systems.
Design test cases, including methodology, setups, equipment, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
Perform hands-on functional testing of mechanical assemblies, electrical circuits, and systems.
Support pre-compliance and compliance testing (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485) at internal and third-party labs.
Conduct feasibility and characterization testing on prototype and production designs.
Operate electrical/mechanical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, force/pressure gauges, calipers, flow meters, etc.).
Troubleshoot and isolate hardware/software failures, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
Design and build test fixtures, tools, and software utilities to improve testing efficiency.
Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and calibration records.
Work closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project Management to ensure requirements are met.
Analyze test data, and document results in ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) or similar systems.
Review electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and compliance standards to ensure test coverage.
Provide timely feedback on test results to improve product design and reliability.
Required Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
Work Environment
Lab-based role with hands-on testing and troubleshooting.
