The Work
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineering Structural Analyst to join our Integrated Warfare Systems & Sensors business team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and performing various analyses, including but not limited to:

Structural, shock, vibration, non-linear (dynamic), and composite material analyses
Finite element and classical stress analysis of components and assemblies for naval and land platforms
Preliminary and final analyses, part sizing, fatigue/fracture assessment, and drawing coordination

Responsibilities will also include:

Test support and correlation
Analysis presentations and documentation for deliverable stress and fracture reports
Investigating discrepant hardware, components, or assemblies during assembly and integration activities
Developing test concepts, instrumentation, and data acquisition plans
The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to work independently with minimal oversight, and accomplish assigned tasks efficiently.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor Degree or higher in an Engineering field, such as Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 2 years experience performing structural analysis
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Working proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level (U.S. Citizenship required)

Desired skills

Applied experience in structural analysis models and solvers, with ANSYS and FEMAP/NASTRAN strongly preferred
Experience in creating and reviewing designs in CAD tools (CREO preferred)
Familiarity with Military Standards associated with DOD, US Navy, or Launcher/Weapon System development
Testing experience including creating test concepts, selecting sensors, specifying data acquisition, monitoring testing, and writing plans, procedures and reports
Experience presenting analysis findings to stakeholders
Active SECRET clearance
Experience performing structural analyses in fast-paced design and/or production environments.
Proficient in use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

The base range for this position in New Jersey is $75,000 - $135,961.
