Oracle APEX + FullStack Developer

Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 3 days in office).

This role builds secure, performant Oracle APEX applications and also contributes across the full stack with Java back ends, React front ends, Node.js services, and REST APIs, supporting integrations, CI/CD, and cloud/onprem deployment in a hybrid Chicago model with three inoffice days weekly .

About the role

Develop and enhance Oracle APEX apps integrated with Oracle Database, while designing services and UIs across Java/Spring, Node.js, and React to meet product requirements and performance targets .

Translate business needs into APEX components and database objects with strong SQL/PLSQL, alongside RESTful APIs, frontend components, and backend services that follow clean, testable patterns .

Operate in a predictable hybrid rhythm with three inoffice days in Chicago for collaboration, planning, and releases, with clear expectations documented in the hybrid policy .

Key responsibilities

Design, build, test, and deploy Oracle APEX features endtoend, including UI, processes, and database logic using SQL/PLSQL best practices .

Build fullstack features: Java/Spring Boot services, Node.js APIs, and React components, integrating with Oracle data models and external services via REST .

Implement API design and configuration, including authentication, versioning, ratelimiting, documentation, and secure key/secret management across environments .

Optimize performance across APEX and full stack: SQL tuning, efficient PL/SQL packages, React performance patterns, and scalable Node/Java services .

Establish CI/CD and environment migrations (dev/test/prod), TFS, and cloud/onprem deployment workflows with postrelease verification .

Enforce security controls in APEX and APIs: parameterized queries, input validation, and secure session/state handling; maintain documentation and runbooks .

Troubleshoot incidents across the stack, perform rootcause analysis, and deliver resilient fixes within SLAs and changemanagement guidelines .

Required qualifications

5+ years with Oracle APEX and strong Oracle SQL/PLSQL (packages, functions, triggers, explain plans, tuning) .

Handson fullstack development: Java (Spring Boot), React, Node.js/Express, and designing/consuming REST APIs with JSON and OAuth/JWT .

Practical experience integrating APEX with services/APIs and migrating applications across environments with CI/CD and configuration management .

Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript for UI/UX, plus Gitbased workflows, code reviews, and unit/integration testing practices .

Comfortable with hybrid work norms and inperson collaboration three days per week in Chicago
