Sr SDET Engineer (Python)

One of our clients in Los Angeles, California is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with the following skills and experience:

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software test development, particularly in server-side and database testing environments. As a key member of the scrum teams, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams to support product development through agile methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on software test development experience, including both functional and non-functional test development.


• Proficiency with Python or other object-oriented programming languages. - MUST HAVE


• Strong knowledge of software engineering practices and agile approaches.


• Experience building or improving test automation frameworks.


• Proficiency in CI/CD integration and pipeline development using tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar.


• Proficiency in Big Data testing methodologies.


• Experience with Gherkin for BDD/TDD practices.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using Python, ensuring high test coverage and reliability.


• Design, implement, and execute functional and non-functional tests, focusing on server-side and database testing to ensure product quality and reliability.


• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand requirements and implement effective testing strategies within 2- or 3-week sprints.


• Drive best practices in the testing space, including continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) integration, pipeline development, and automation.


• Conduct Big Data testing to validate data integrity, accuracy, and performance.


• Utilize RESTful API testing techniques to validate API functionality and integration.


• Write SQL queries to perform database testing, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.


• Participate in BDD/TDD practices using Gherkin to enhance test coverage and clarity.


• Take ownership of challenges and proactively contribute to team objectives while maintaining a collaborative mindset.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree/work experience.
