Role: Workday Integration Consultant

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workday Integration Consultant to design, develop, test, maintain, and support Workday integrations across various HR functional areas. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Workday Studio, Workday Extend, EIB, Web Services, and Payroll Interfaces, along with a deep understanding of Workday HCM modules and integration best practices. This role involves close collaboration with HRIS teams and reports directly to the Sr. Director of HR IT & Reporting.


Key Responsibilities

Integration Development & Support

  • Design, develop, configure, and test Workday integrations leveraging:

    • Workday Extend

    • Workday Studio

    • Workday RaaS

    • Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)

    • Complex Calculated Fields

    • Workday Web Services (SOAP, REST)

    • XSLT, XPath, XML

    • Custom Reports / Report Writer

  • Support end-to-end integration lifecycle including build, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Develop and maintain inbound/outbound integrations with ERP/SaaS systems and third-party vendors.

Payroll & HR Integrations

  • Work with Payroll Interfaces such as PECI, PICOF, and other ERP payroll connectors.

  • Build and support integrations for:

    • Absence & Time Tracking

    • Benefits providers

    • Payroll vendors (e.g., ADP)

    • Talent and Recruiting systems

Technical Analysis & Documentation

  • Analyze requirements, design integration mappings, and document technical specifications.

  • Work with middleware technologies and transformation logic frameworks.

  • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities.

HRIS Collaboration

  • Partner with Workday HRIS teams to ensure high-quality integration delivery.

  • Support reporting needs using Workday Custom Reports and Workday RaaS.

  • Assist with data conversion activities such as Workday iLoads and bulk data loading.

System Development Lifecycle

  • Participate in all SDLC phases including requirements, design, testing, deployment, and production support.

  • Utilize and update ticket tracking systems to ensure timely resolution of issues.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Workday Integration experience.

  • Minimum 4 years hands-on experience with:

    • EIB

    • Workday Web Services (SOAP, REST, XML)

    • XSLT, XPath

    • Complex integrations built in Eclipse/Studio

    • Document Transformation (DT)

    • ERP/SaaS connectors and SOAP UI tools

  • Experience with payroll interfaces including PECI, PICOF, and third-party vendor integrations.

  • Strong understanding of Workday HCM modules:

    • Compensation

    • Benefits

    • Recruiting

    • Talent Management

    • Time Tracking

    • Absence Management

    • Security Administration

    • Business Process Configuration

  • Working knowledge of BIRT (preferred).

  • Familiarity with data conversion concepts and lifecycle impacts.

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel for data manipulation.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience using ticket tracking systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
