Overview:

We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft COBOL Developer who will support our client to design and lead a bootcamp-style training program focused on PeopleSoft and COBOL programming. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PeopleSoft applications, COBOL development, PeopleTools, and batch processing. This bootcamp aims to equip participants with hands-on technical knowledge to support and enhance PeopleSoft systems in enterprise environments.

Duties:

  • Develop and deliver a structured PeopleSoft COBOL training curriculum for beginners to mid-level professionals.

  • Provide hands-on instruction covering COBOL programming, PeopleSoft Application Engine, SQR, and batch processing.

  • Teach best practices in debugging, performance tuning, and PeopleSoft system integration.

  • Conduct live coding exercises, case studies, and troubleshooting scenarios.

  • Mentor participants, answer technical queries, and provide feedback on assignments.

  • Assess trainee progress through quizzes, labs, and projects.

  • Stay updated with industry trends in PeopleSoft, COBOL, and enterprise ERP systems.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in PeopleSoft development with COBOL, PeopleTools, and SQR.

  • Proficiency in batch processing, Component Interfaces, and Application Engine.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM modules (including Human Resources, Pension Administration, and Payroll for North America); Financials modules (including Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger) is a plus.

  • Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working with mainframe systems (IBM z/OS) or UNIX-based COBOL environments.

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft upgrades, PUM, and Oracle databases.
