Description:
Job Title: Validation Engineer - Embedded Systems (Automotive)
Location: Wyoming, MN (Fully Onsite - Local Candidates Only)
Contract Length: 6 Months (Potential for Extension)
Work Hours: Standard Day Shift, Monday-Friday

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Validation Engineer to join their Vehicle Electronics and Software (VES) organization, focusing on RIDE COMMAND validation. This role involves planning, setting up, and executing validation tests for hardware and software components, specifically Displays and Gauges, across multiple vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Validate hardware and software through simulation, bench, and vehicle testing
  • Collaborate with technicians and validation engineers for test execution
  • Coordinate test activities with system leads and program managers
  • Manage multiple component-level validations simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain test bench setups and simulation scripts
  • Conduct failure investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align validation with release schedules
  • Review and provide feedback on hardware/software requirements
  • Ensure validation follows applicable standards and processes
  • Work in both office and lab/shop environments; occasional travel (

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (e.g., Computer Engineering)
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics design, verification, or validation, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Experience with vehicle testing and embedded systems
  • Proficiency in communication protocols: CAN, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, VHF, Cellular
  • Strong knowledge of UDS and J1939 protocols
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, SFMEA, and Functional Safety
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with tools like DOORS, TestRail, or CodeBeamer
  • Experience working with global teams and project management is a plus

Preferred Background:
  • Automotive industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with infotainment systems or RIDE COMMAND is a significant plus
