Network Technician Assistant

Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com) is seeking multiple Network Technician Assistants for a 6+ month on-site contract opportunity in Thornton, CO.

Position Description

• Find and map physical network cabling.
• Conduct network testing and data gathering related to current state of physical layer of data network, relative to the cabling mitigation project, which is part of site prep for IU, VoIP, Security Cameras, Door Access, etc.
• Install wireless access points on interior and exterior of district buildings.
• Install structured cables for network devices per BICSI standards.
• Update documents, templates, and databases that serve as long-term repositories of IT/Facilities data, as well as the reference documents for bids / walkthroughs related to cabling mitigation project and other site-prep for bond projects.
• Clean network closets and remove debris.
• Provide low-level technical support to vendors and customers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Must have 2-4 years of experience in settings involving level 1 technology support, device support, network support, and/or systems administration.
• In depth knowledge of structured cabling installation and maintenance is required.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of enterprise networks as demonstrated by work experience.
• Deep desire and ability to work in the field, not in an office or console setting.
• Able to follow and improve structured processes for network testing.
• Preferences: strong customer service and teamwork skills, desire to work in an educational setting / mission.
