Java Developer Financial or Credit Card Industry a must

Location: Remote (EST preferred, open to CST)
Must be W2 employee of our company
Contract: 5 months

MUST HAVE:
Java Developer strong Java, Kotlin (would be nice), Scala (not expected, but great if they have Java + Kotlin and/or Scala)
Credit Card or Financial industry experience. Description mentions "ACH" a few times -- this is not a must.

Role description/Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to design, build, and maintain backend services that power our financial transaction processing systems, with a focus on ACH processing and NACHA compliance.
Will be responsible for developing secure, scalable, and efficient services using Java/Kotlin/Spring in a microservice-based architecture running on Kubernetes.
Accuracy and timeliness of ACH transaction processing.
System stability, scalability, and uptime.

Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 5+ years of programming experience, ideally with a modern backend stack.
Kotlin or Scala. A huge Plus
Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and ORM frameworks.
Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures (SOA).
Cloud platforms experience (Kubernetes preferred).
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines.
Test-driven development experience, including unit and integration testing.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Familiarity with secure coding practices and regulatory compliance in financial services.
Agile software development experience.

Nice to have skills
Experience with Fiserv systems and/or general credit product knowledge.
NACHA experience (highly preferred).
Experience processing ACH returns, NOCs, and DNEs.
Exposure to analytics and monitoring tools.
Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Java, Kubernetes, AWS, or NACHA Accredited ACH Professional).
