Our challenge

We are seeking a seasoned Functional Analyst with deep expertise in the Calypso Derivatives Trading Platform and a strong understanding of front-to-back office workflows in capital markets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in testing complex derivatives products, Calypso configurations, and integrations, ensuring robust and compliant trade lifecycle coverage.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $120K - $130K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and maintaining non-production environments.
  • Ensuring scheduled jobs run without errors.
  • Supporting Calypso build deployments.
  • Able to perform initial analysis of issues/bugs and propose resolution.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and participation in sprint ceremonies.
  • Proficiency in SQL and understanding of ETL processes for data validation.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and defect management tools such as qTest, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp business concepts and establish credibility with stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing initial issue analysis and proposing resolutions.

Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of capital markets and derivatives across Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office operations.
  • Extensive QA experience with Calypso, including upgrade projects and migrations from legacy platforms.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing, including use of Calypso Automated Testing Tool (CATT) or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of Interest Rate, FX, and Commodity derivatives, including their full lifecycle workflows.
  • Validation experience in Front Office and Middle Office functionalities such as P&L reports, risk reports, and pricing models.
  • Proficient in Calypso modules including Pricing, Accounting, Workflows, Messaging (Confirmation/Settlement Advice/Trade Statement), Reporting Framework, Task Station, and Scheduled Tasks.
  • Experience with Calypso versions 16.1 and above.
  • Familiarity with Calypso DTCC Reporting Module (CFTC, ESMA, FCA, Canadian).
  • Strong understanding of Calypso configurations and interface integrations with external systems.
  • Ability to perform end-to-end testing including trade creation, transfers, messaging, accounting, and interface validations (ACH, FedWire, GL, reporting).
  • Experience with XVA module is a plus.
  • Experience with trade booking systems such as Bloomberg and MarkitWire.
  • Experience in market data generation including curves and volatility surfaces across asset classes.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of software QA experience in an agile development environment within a regulated financial services (preferably banking) organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Calypso test planning and execution experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • QA certifications.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance standards.
  • Experience with other trading platforms (e.g., Wallstreet, Murex, Summit) is a plus.
