RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Platform Engineer in Madison, NJ.
Overview:
Are you passionate about building intelligent systems that think, act, and collaborate autonomously? We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join our team and help power the next generation of Agentic AI systems-where autonomous agents use structured and unstructured data to make decisions in real time.
In this role, you will architect and maintain a high-performance data platform that enables intelligent agents with real-time ingestion, contextual memory, observability, and seamless LLM integration.
Duties:
* Build scalable data pipelines (real-time and batch) from sources like ServiceNow, GA4, JIRA, Zendesk, and third-party APIs
* Develop platforms for data quality and anomaly detection
* Design agent memory systems using vector stores, knowledge graphs, and temporal data stores
* Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) and agent frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, MetaGPT)
* Create APIs and event-driven systems for agent-to-agent communication
* Optimize performance for multi-agent orchestration-indexing, latency, load balancing
* Build observability tools for agent metrics, prompt tracking, and model drift
* Implement security, governance, and versioning in agent workflows
* Collaborate with AI research, backend, and product teams to deliver memory-augmented, multi-modal features
* Maintain CI/CD pipelines in AWS and Snowflake Cloud
* Troubleshoot production issues with a focus on proactive observability
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years in data engineering, ML platforms, or backend systems
* Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) and semantic search
* Cloud experience (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
* Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
* Understanding of LLM orchestration and prompt engineering
* Familiarity with LLM agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI)
* Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data frameworks (Spark, Airflow, dbt, Kafka)
* Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills
Bonus Points:
* Experience with multi-agent systems or agent-based simulations
* Background in data-centric AI, RAG pipelines, or knowledge graphs
* Familiarity with LangGraph, DSPy, or agent state management tools
* Exposure to observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
* Open-source contributions in AI infrastructure or agent ecosystems
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
