CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO CHICAGO

The IT Systems Engineer will join a team of infrastructure and automation engineers to help maintain, support, and improve the Bank s scheduling/orchestration tool (Control-M). The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago utilizes hybrid cloud architecture, so experience working across self-hosted AWS servers and SaaS applications is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be able to explain an orchestration workflow, identify benefits and pitfalls of the existing architecture, and make recommendations to improve efficiency when provided with documentation and access to the stack. Additionally, the candidate should have strong soft skills for interacting with business stakeholders and engaging in collaboration across IT teams.
Primary duties include:
Familiarity with Batch workflows and job orchestration
Ability to configure orchestration workflows using Bank documented best practices
Conduct risk analysis and apply policy compliance to new workflow design
Upgrade application versions and Virtual Agents
Implement jobs as code using CI/CD pipelines
Identify opportunities for Batch automation and workflow consolidation
Troubleshoot issues using logs and error messages
Manage independent work using agile practices and ceremonies
Comfort embedding with delivery teams to help reconfigure their orchestration workflows/jobs to match Bank standards Candidates with Control-M and/or Helix Control-M experience will be prioritized. This is a 6-month contract with a 2 days/week on site requirement.
