Space Systems Engineer

As a Space Systems Engineer on our team, you will work with Booz Allen colleagues and the U.S. Space Force to develop and deploy the next generation of capabilities to deliver critical information to our warfighters to quickly win or even prevent future wars. Your client will trust you to develop Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), technical assessments, verification plans, and digital mission and system models for satellite systems and payloads. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 5+ years of experience performing systems engineering or integration on national security space programs
- Experience in requirements and interface management, including development, decomposition, and traceability
- Experience performing systems engineering for satellite systems
- Experience navigating Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), preparing technical artifacts and presentations, and leading Working Groups (WGs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
- Knowledge of the Verification and Validation (V&V) lifecycle
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
Nice If You Have:
- Experience working with clients in a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I), Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) or a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) role
- Experience with systems engineering in satellite program ground systems communications
- Experience with space vehicle environmental testing to include radiological, vibration, and acoustic
- Experience with satellite program calibration and validation
- Experience with satellite program launch preparations to include space vehicle to launch vehicle interface engineering and integration
- Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR), defense weather, and tactical ISR mission areas
- Experience with OPIR payloads, space-based weather payloads, satellite busses, and satellite subsystems, including propulsion, thermal control, power, attitude control, TT&C, communications, data processing, and structures
- Experience leading a team performing systems engineering, integration, and testing on space-based remote sensing systems
- Experience leading a team using a Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to manage system definitions and technical baselines and experience with digital engineering and model based systems engineering
- TS/SCI clearance
