Position: Mainframe Systems Analyst

Location: Quincy, Massachusetts (Onsite 3 days a week) need local
Rate: $45/hr on W2 (No benefits)
Duration: Long-term
Work Authorization: L2(Need on our W2)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Systems Analyst with a strong legacy mainframe background. The role involves gathering requirements, analyzing application functionality, coordinating with third-party vendors for development, and overseeing UAT activities.

You will not perform coding but should have strong hands-on understanding of COBOL, Easytrieve, IMS, VSAM, JCL, SQL, and DB2 to effectively guide and review technical work.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and document business requirements for mainframe applications.
Write functional specifications and recommend solutions to the development vendor.
Oversee third-party development and review test results.
Conduct UAT with business teams and provide implementation recommendations.
Partner with business users to evaluate and improve existing systems and procedures.
Ensure smooth coordination between business and development teams.

Required Skills

Strong background in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, IMS, Easytrieve).
Excellent knowledge of system analysis and functional documentation.
Experience in UAT planning, execution, and validation.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Experience overseeing vendor development work.
