Job Details

Our client is one of the largest wholesalers in the North American region with an impressive portfolio of all the top brands we know and love! They are expanding their business and looking to bring on a Network Engineer in to assist with escalation support and complex projects.

We are looking for a Network Engineer to manage a multi-site infrastructure and take complete ownership of various network/datacenter projects. You will be a part of a small networking team that encourages each team member to own his/her part and effectively communicate with the team nationwide. You will have support of the Network Manager (your boss!) a hands-on leader with a passion for technology! You must know your way around a datacenter and have previous experience with the following responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and documentation for multiple datacenters to drive network redesign and equipment upgrades.
  • Manage, install, and upgrade core Cisco networking systems across LAN/WAN environments and four datacenters.
  • Serve as the senior onsite engineer and final escalation point for national service desk tickets related to networking.
  • Configure, manage, and support Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Collaborate with vendors and onsite teams to ensure stable network operations and resolve connection issues swiftly.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 4+ years experience as a Network Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in Cisco routing and switching.
  • Advanced configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco network hardware.
  • Solid understanding of LAN and WAN technologies and multi-site architectures.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling principles, fiber channeling, materials, and installation standards.
  • Experience supporting Cisco wireless solutions.
  • Knowledge of network load balancing and relevant protocols.
  • Proven track record supporting multi-site networks and multiple datacenters.
