Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Facilities Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Brook Park, Ohio in support of the NASA Glenn Engineering and Research Support (GEARS) Contract team. As a major partner of the GEARS team, Peraton is responsible to provide multi-disciplinary engineering services to maintain, enhance and improve facilities at the NASA Glenn Research Center.
The selected candidate will provide engineering services within the NASA GRC CPS (Central Process Systems) group. The candidate shall primarily develop control system designs and installation plans to improve CPS capabilities and maintain continuous equipment operations. This shall involve working closely with a variety of disciplines - project managers, electrical and mechanical design engineers, technicians, maintenance staff and equipment operators. Proficiency with MS applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Teams a must. Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing, and can work effectively, both independently and in a team environment.

Target Salary Range

Responsibilities include:
- Design electrical and software control systems and existing control system modifications for improvement projects at GRC facilities
- Provide engineering field support for the construction of electrical control systems and existing control system modifications
- Develop IST (Integrated System Testing) plans and lead IST of electrical control systems during start-up
- Develop Statements of Work (SOW) detailing work plans for field crews
- Support daily operations of systems and troubleshoot as issues arise. Perform system outage response and solutions development.
- Complete as-built drawings, facility change requests, equipment operating procedures and other project close-out documentation
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to GEARS management, highlighting activities and issues encountered
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS degree in Electrical Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- 5 years experience
- Involvement with multiple engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical and Software Controls
- Experience using AutoCAD design software (current version is AutoCAD 2019)
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of electrical schematics, connection diagrams, electrical codes and standards
- Experience in developing automation and process control schemes for varieties of systems, such as motor, pump, and valve control
- DCS (Distributed Control Systems) development, architecture and operation
- Field devices, actuators and instrumentation for temperature, pressure, vibration and flow measurement
- ABB S+ engineering BRC (bridge controller) function code programming
- ABB 800xA screen design
- Ethernet network architecture and planning
