Description: About the Role

We are seeking a Computer Operator I to monitor and operate electronic digital computer systems for processing business, scientific, engineering, and other data. This role involves ensuring proper system functionality, managing peripheral equipment, and performing routine operational tasks to maintain smooth workflow.
Responsibilities

Operate and monitor computer systems according to established instructions.
Set control switches and ensure correct peripheral equipment is utilized.
Load input/output units with materials such as tapes and printout forms.
Observe equipment and control panels for messages or error indicators.
Run diagnostic tests and respond appropriately to system messages.
Report errors or machine malfunctions promptly.
Perform incidental clerical tasks such as labeling tape containers, maintaining production records, and distributing output materials.
Operate peripheral equipment for tasks like tape-to-printer operations.
Manage multiple systems as required.

Additional Duties:

Scanning & Document Management: Perform scanning, file format conversions, image cleanup, and post-processing delivery.
Mail Services: Handle mail retrieval, sorting, routing, metering, and delivery.
Engineering Support: Assist with document research, updates, printing, laminating, plotting, and archiving.
Records Retention: Manage box requests, indexing, delivery, and returns using retention systems.
Provide accurate customer support and information handling in compliance with established processes under supervision.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in scanning/document management, engineering support, records retention, and mail services.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior military experience with a clean record (preferred but not required).
More than 1 year of experience in engineering support and document management.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
