Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Research Associate III for a contract assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical clients in South San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities :
  • Highly motivated, productive and talented research associate to advance efforts on gene therapy modalities in a contract role.
  • Will collaborate with cross-functional research groups to optimize viral vector production processes, provide viral vector research materials and develop new technologies.
  • Expected to work independently, to generate and communicate results that drive project decisions.
  • Provide viral vector core services, which include core facility management, lentiviral library production, Adeno-associated virus (AAV) production, viral vector QC and analytics.
  • Independently collect, analyze, interpret and present data.
  • Maintain virus inventory and registry using informatics platforms such as the Benchling or Signal system.
  • Assist with viral vector technology development and its in vitro and in vivo applications.
Required Skills:
  • BS/MS degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related discipline with 3+ years of laboratory research experience.
  • Proficient in mammalian cell culture and general molecular biology techniques such as transient plasmid transfection, PCR techniques (qPCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR and dPCR) and Western blot.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Working experiences with lentivirus or AAV production and application, CRISPR technology for genome editing are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and/or experiences with flow cytometer operations, electronic notebook, biochemistry and protein engineering are also a plus.
