Job Description:

  • The Cyber Security and Network Security Architect will provide subject matter expertise, stXXgic and operational guidance, and hands-on support for the design and implementation of advanced cyber security solutions and secure network architectures.
  • The role involves delivering architecture guidance, security solutions, hybrid SecOps models, and aligning security strategies with emerging industry standards and legislative frameworks.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert-level consultancy and guidance on cyber security and secure network architecture including ZTA, cloud security, and vendor-specific frameworks.
  • XXgn and support implementation of cyber security technologies such as SASE, ZTNA, SD-WAN, SSE, EDR/XDR, CASB, FWaaS, and more.
  • Lead development of hybrid security operations integrating internal SecOps with MSSP support.
  • Guide implementation of AI/ML-driven security, threat detection, incident response, and automation.
  • Develop and present architecture documentation, technical options, and costing analysis.
  • Advise on security governance, risk management, and compliance in hybrid environments.
  • Stay current on emerging cyber threats and technologies relevant to K 12 education.
  • CollaboXX across school boards, internal teams, and MSSPs on secure solution design.
  • Support development of technology roadmaps and modernization strategies.
  • Deliver training, documentation, and workshops for IT/security staff.
  • Support transition from internal to hybrid MSSP security operations models.
  • Advise on adoption of secure cloud technologies and distributed identity models.
  • Lead assessments of architecture and capability gaps and support telemetry strategies.
  • Present findings and progress to senior and executive leadership.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • 10+ years in cyber security and network architecture with hands-on experience in strategy, design, and implementation.
  • 5+ years designing secure architectures and solutions, including hybrid SecOps.
  • 5+ years of experience in advanced SDN environments and network security practices.
  • Proven hands-on experience with technologies including:
  • SSE/SASE (SWG, CASB, FWaaS, ZTNA)
  • Cloud security architectures (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • NIST CSF v2, CIS Controls v8, MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, ATLAS
  • EPP, EDR, XDR, UEBA, vulnerability management, red teaming
  • SOAR, SIEM, threat intelligence, incident response automation
  • IR/IM practices, governance, and risk frameworks in hybrid setups
  • Experience integrating security operations across internal and MSSP teams.
  • 5+ years with network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN) and protocols.
  • 5+ years with SD-WAN/SDN (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Meraki).
  • 3+ years with SSE/SASE platforms (e.g., Zscaler, Prisma SASE, Netskope).
  • 5+ years with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
  • 5+ years preparing executive briefings, reports, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating work with IT/security teams and external vendors.
  • 5+ years delivering security training and strategic security roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated experience in security solution evaluation through PoCs.
  • 5+ years advising organizations on MSS models (MSSP, MDR, SOCaaS).
  • Cyber security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, CRIClient, CISA).
Should Have:
  • Experience aligning security strategy with sector-specific legislative frameworks (e.g., EDSTA/Bill 194).
  • Knowledge of federated/multi-tenant security architectures.
  • Experience with emerging technologies including agentic AI-based automation.
  • Strong knowledge of secure solution design and telemetry/metrics management.
  • Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field.
  • Familiarity with client/government IT standards (e.g., GO-ITS).
Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in computer science, cyber security, or related field.
  • Must have industry-recognized certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, etc.).
