Senior Developer / Data Architect

Location: Augusta, ME
Salary: $65.00 USD Hourly - $75.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior Developer / Data Architect
We're looking for a skilled Senior Data Architect / Developer to lead the design and development of enterprise-grade data solutions. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to modernize data systems, build automated ETL pipelines, and mentor junior developers. This role is central to our data modernization efforts and system migrations.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable data architectures using Oracle (on-prem and cloud).
• Build and maintain automated ETL processes from diverse data sources (flat files, databases, APIs).
• Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts, procedures, and views.
• Create and manage dimensional and tabular data models.
• Use Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) for reporting and visualization.
• Document systems, create architectural diagrams, and maintain metadata.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues proactively.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, DBAs, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Developer.
• Strong expertise in Oracle technologies, including cloud-hosted databases.
• Proven experience with automated ETL development and API integrations.
• Mastery of SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousing.
• Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with tabular data models.
• Familiarity with data governance and metadata management.
• Demonstrated success in technical mentoring and solution design.
