Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Architect at Oaktree, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and implementation of our data architecture, ensuring alignment with Oaktree's strategic objectives. You will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise on data architecture best practices, collaborating closely with stakeholders across various teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Present technology architecture and solution overviews to executive-level audiences.
- Conduct assessments and define enterprise roadmaps for enabling a data-driven Analytics organization.
- Provide thought leadership around modern analytics tools and platforms for mid-sized companies to Fortune 500s.
- Participate in the development of Database Architecture and Roadmaps in support of business strategies.
- Develop DW Standards for Enterprise including Database, ETL and Reporting Standards to be used in development projects on DW Platform.
- Data Modeling (Logical, Physical), translating business processes and requirements to data pipelines and flows.
- Data Catalog and data dictionary construction.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and secure data models using Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Syponse. Finding and using the right technology for the right purpose.
- Develop and maintain data architecture blueprints, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with data engineers to design efficient data pipelines, leveraging Azure Data Factory for data ingestion, transformation, and movement.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate Azure data storage solutions based on data characteristics, performance requirements, and cost considerations.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance policies, including data quality standards, metadata management, and data security protocols within the Azure environment.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in data architecture, evaluating their potential impact and applicability to Oaktree's data strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or other relevant discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in data and analytics space and 8+ years of experience in job specific work.
- Knowledge of the asset management industry and asset classes to bridge business and technology for data solutions.
- Strong understanding of key data concepts (e.g., Portfolio Construction, Security/Account Reference data, AUM, Investment Results/Attribution, Index/Benchmark).
- Experience with industry data (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, ESG, Index, alternative data).
- Hands-on experience with data warehouse, data lake, and cloud solutions, collaborating with data engineering teams.
