Job Purpose:

Position General Summary:

Creates and executes test strategies that verify enhancements meet business requirements and user expectations. Identifies and effectively communicates quality risks and mitigation strategies so the appropriate measures can be taken by the product team. Detects and catalogs defects with appropriate detail so they can be resolved quickly and effectively. Collaborates with Software Development, Business Analysts, Project Management, and support teams to verify FLVS products retain a high-quality standard among our users. Reviews and provides meaningful feedback on work products from the SDLC, including product design specifications and project requirements.

Essential Position Functions:

Intermediate professional level role. Works on moderately complex to complex projects that require solid understanding of the software and development best practices. May support multiple efforts in parallel and work with a variety of team members.

Qualifications

Education - Bachelor s Degree in Quality Assurance Science, Liberal Arts and Sciences or Computer Science; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.


Required Experience

This position requires the following experience and/or knowledge:

1. A minimum of 3 years of quality assurance experience, preferably testing web or desktop applications, or equivalent experience with data warehouses, student information systems, learning management systems, SaaS applications (such as Workday or Salesforce) or other education related applications.

2. A minimum of 2 years of experience using test case management and defect tracking tools.

3. A minimum of 1 year of experience using database tools, such as Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB Compass, or Studio 3T, to assist in testing efforts.
