What You'll Do:
  • As a Senior Reliability Test Engineer on the team, you will be responsible for driving reliability activities as part of the overall plan for a complex medical robotics system.
  • This position places an emphasis on working closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to evaluate and improve reliability of components and subassemblies of complex medical robotics system. Candidates must be self-motivated, independent and have an eagerness to learn and work as a team, and a desire to thrive in a very fast paced environment.
  • Plan and execute testing of components, subassemblies and subsystems of a sophisticated medical robotics system as part of overall reliability plan.
  • Work closely with the Design, System Integration, NPI and Quality teams to detail and implement reliability testing for design characterization, design verification and in manufacturing of medical capital equipment.
  • Design, document, and release electro-mechanical reliability test fixtures using both custom and off-the shelf hardware and software
  • Design, document, and release reliability tests protocols and author reports. Perform testing and train technicians.
  • Perform failure analysis on electromechanical equipment.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Provide detailed status and tracking of activities.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 6+ years of experience in reliability testing, test development, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing, automating, and executing the testing of electromechanical devices.
  • 2+ years of experience with instrumentation automation using scripting languages such as Python.
  • 2+ years of experience using Oracle Agile PLM and CAD.
  • Ability to produce high quality documentation that is clearly understandable.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of Linux commands.
  • 2+ years of experience using SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of risk management techniques, such as DFMEA, for complex electromechanical system in Medical Device industry is high desirable.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Understanding of reliability of repairable systems, knowledge of ReliaSoft reliability tools and Minitab statistical software.

Other:
  • Travel up to 10% to design partners and contract manufacturers may be required.

The anticipated base salary range for this position in the Bay Area, CA is $119,000 to $191,820
