Program Manager - Electrical Design (12-Month W2 Contract)
Location: Remote (Occasional Domestic Travel Required)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $70-$80 per hour (W2), depending on experience
Contract Duration: 12 months with potential for extension based on business needs and performance
A leading global organization in the logistics and fulfillment space is seeking a Program Manager - Electrical Design to oversee the development and implementation of electrical design standards across multiple industrial building programs, including warehouses, fulfillment centers, and manufacturing facilities. This is a highly collaborative role involving coordination with internal stakeholders, external design consultants, and general contractors to ensure the successful execution of design initiatives.
Responsibilities
Program Management
- Manage multiple concurrent MEP projects from planning through completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality standards
- Develop and implement program-wide strategies, processes, and best practices
- Align MEP programs with organizational goals by coordinating across departments and stakeholders
Project Planning and Execution
- Develop detailed project plans including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution
- Monitor progress and proactively adjust plans to meet project milestones
Technical Leadership
- Provide expert guidance on MEP systems, codes, and design technologies
- Review and approve electrical system designs, specifications, and drawings
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards (NEC, NFPA), and regulations
Team Leadership
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers, designers, and project managers
- Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative work environment
Quality Control
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures for MEP systems
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues or discrepancies
- Ensure designs meet company and regulatory quality standards
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client and stakeholder communications
- Manage expectations and provide regular project updates
- Address and resolve client concerns promptly
Financial Oversight
- Manage program budgets and monitor expenditures
- Implement cost-saving measures and prepare financial forecasts and reports
Risk Management
- Identify risks and develop mitigation plans
- Manage change orders and contract modifications
- Ensure safety and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in MEP systems
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and project delivery
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience leading design and construction of complex commercial and/or industrial facilities
- Proven proficiency in BIM coordination and clash detection (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks)
- Strong knowledge of NEC codes, NFPA standards, and applicable building regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk BIM 360, and related tools
- Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability managing multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional stakeholders
