Description
The Technical Assistance Specialist role will conduct training and outreach, providing one-on-one support, and serving as a liaison between participants, and heir technical vendors.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working directly with end users in a support or training capacity
Understanding of general healthcare IT systems
Knowledge of HIPAA and health care regulatory compliance as they relate to EHR systems and Health Information Exchange (HIE)
Experience developing training materials or end user reports
Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical audiences
Experience working with EHR systems and/or health data exchange platforms
Familiarity with NC HealthConnex or similar HIE systems
Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy standards
A focus on documentation and process improvement
Duties include but are not limited to:
Serve as a point of contact for healthcare participants, providing one-on-one guidance on how to access and utilize Health services
Coordinate communications and issue resolution between participants, their technical vendors, and HIEA's technical partners (SAS and J2 Interactive)
Facilitate technical onboarding, implementation follow-ups, and troubleshooting support
Conduct virtual and in-person training sessions to educate participants on Health functionality, policies, and best practices.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all technical assistance (TA) interactions and support activities.
Develop and update technical assistance resources, including user guides, FAQs, training materials, and presentations.
Contribute to continuous improvement of technical assistance processes based on participant feedback and common issues.
Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including participants, EHR vendors, data architects, developers, analysts, and clinical stakeholders to support the technical assistance team's data quality and system reliability work.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in technical assistance, provider support, healthcare IT, or health information exchange environments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
