What You'll Do
- Provide engineering expertise across multiple rocket motor launch vehicle systems, from short-range to long-range class motors.
- Review commercial launch systems for suitability in MDA flight test events.
- Evaluate design, manufacturing, testing, and qualification programs for motor components including case, nozzle, and propellant.
- Analyze thrust performance based on case and propellant design and advise senior leaders on trade-offs and capabilities.
- Education & Experience:Master's degree + 12 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree + 20 years in missile defense or large DoD programs.
- Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Technical Expertise:Stress, loads, and structural analysis.
- Propellant grain manufacturing and characterization.
- Familiarity with ground test operations for motor firings.
- Knowledge of metals and composites used in rocket motor design.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Understanding of MDA/DoD programs and processes.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Experience with MDA flight test targets and threats.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Prior MDA/DoD experience and knowledge of missile defense systems.
