Job Details

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the team in creating and preparing new or revised aircraft technical documentation about the operation and maintenance of aircraft parts, systems and assemblies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for completing engineering research, development and certification requirements for authoring/illustrating new and sustaining model technical publications.
  • Utilize CATIA CAD and Arbortext authoring software to produce detailed 2D and 3D interactive procedures to support the operation and maintenance of aircraft systems.
  • Assist with all data conforms to established design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify accuracy of content, instructions and illustrations
  • Collaborate with design engineers, project teams and customer service representatives.
  • Validate technical document procedures by conducting virtual (CATIA) and on-aircraft validations of part details, assemblies and installations.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aviation or relative field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to develop good working relations by coordination, communication, and issue resolution with other engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to understand engineering data, and research/analyze engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience and knowledge of aircraft operation, aircraft systems, aircraft maintenance practices and aircraft manufacturing.
  • Experience using SGML/HTML/XML and/or Arbortext Editor preferred.
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
