Sr. Software Engineer-Documentum (Remote)

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): North Carolina and Texas.

We are seeking an experienced Documentum Developer with a strong background in financial services or banking to design, develop, and maintain enterprise content management (ECM) solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in API design and development, deep experience with Documentum and related content management platforms, and strong programming skills in Java, .NET, and other modern languages. You will work closely with business and technology teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant ECM solutions aligned with financial industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Documentum-based applications, workflows, and integrations for banking/financial services business processes.
• Develop and maintain APIs (REST/SOAP) to integrate Documentum with enterprise applications, including core banking, lending, compliance, and back-office systems.
• Customize and extend Documentum components, such as D2, xCP, Webtop, and Content Server, to meet specific business requirements.
• Develop batch and real-time integration solutions using Java, .NET, and other languages as needed.
• Create and maintain custom services, jobs, and Documentum objects for enhanced document lifecycle management.
• Implement and maintain metadata models, taxonomies, and retention policies in compliance with financial regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and QA teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing Documentum solutions for performance, scalability, and security.
• Ensure compliance with financial services regulations such as SOX, GLBA, PCI-DSS, and AML/KYC guidelines.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the ECM team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance

OR

High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with OpenText Documentum D2, xCP 2.x, or Captiva/Intelligent Capture.
• Exposure to cloud-based ECM deployments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Background in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Banking/financial services project experience with compliance-heavy applications.
• 4+ years of experience in Documentum application development, customization, and administration.
• Strong proficiency in Java, J2EE, .NET (C#), and scripting languages (JavaScript, PowerShell, Python preferred).
• Hands-on experience with Documentum APIs, DFC, DFS, REST Services, and xCP development.
• Solid understanding of content lifecycle management, document security models, and retention policies.
• Experience designing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs for enterprise integrations.
• Familiarity with financial services or banking domain processes such as loan origination, payments, compliance, or records management.
• Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and writing optimized SQL queries.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and regulatory compliance requirements in banking.
