Job Title: ServiceNow ITOM Tester

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid/Onsite as required)
Experience Level: Mid to Senior Level (5 8 years)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow ITOM Tester to join our QA team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in testing ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) modules including Discovery, CMDB, Event Management, and Service Mapping. This role involves validating integrations, automation, and workflows across ITOM components to ensure platform stability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ServiceNow ITOM modules.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for ITOM components such as:
    • Discovery
    • Service Mapping
    • CMDB Health and Data Integrity
    • Event Management
    • Orchestration/Automation
  • Validate integrations between ServiceNow and external monitoring or infrastructure tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure, AWS).
  • Ensure data accuracy, relationships, and reconciliation within the CMDB.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and ServiceNow architects to identify and resolve defects.
  • Document test results, track defects in JIRA (or similar tools), and report QA metrics.
  • Utilize ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) for regression and smoke testing.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA/testing, with 2+ years focused on ServiceNow ITOM modules.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, and Event Management.
  • Experience testing integrations between ServiceNow and IT infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow ATF, JIRA, and test management tools.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes and CMDB data models.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and validate backend data.
  • Familiarity with web services testing (REST/SOAP APIs).

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ITOM.
  • Experience with ServiceNow upgrades and release testing.
  • Background in automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Tosca, or Ready API).
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and monitoring integrations.
