This is a bi-lingual role. Excellent proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
An IBM z/VM, z/VSE Systems Programmer ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our information systems that support core organizational functions. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all operating systems assigned.
Key Areas of Focus for this Role
This position is responsible for assisting in the management of the z/VM operating systems across multiple LPARS including:
Capacity and performance
Directory and security
Install/administer z/VM related ISV products.
Install/administer z/VSE.
System network design, configuration, and day-to-day operation experience required with OSA, TCP/IP, and VSWITCH.
Provision virtual machines by manipulating VM directory entire manually or using tools such as VM:Secure and DirMaint.
Complete storage management, system backup/restore, disaster recovery planning tasks.
Support Incident and Change Management processes.
Coordinate system modifications with IT and business unit managers.
Support multiple annual Disaster Recovery exercises.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of ten years of experience managing z/VM operating systems
Deep understanding of z/VSE under z/VM
Ability to upgrade and maintain z/VM using VMSES.
Experience working in a collaborative environment.
Experience with Broadcom / CA third party products.
Experience with IBM DirMaint.
