Position : Senior Cloud Systems Engineer

Location : Fairfax, VA

Mostly remote, with monthly onsite meetings in VA or DC

Work Authorization : Citizen/ EAD

Need local to Virginia , DC and MD

Salary: $100K + PTO without medical insurance.

Key Requirements

  1. 5+ years of experience in: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins (Groovy), Python
  2. Strong focus on AWS + DevOps
  3. Willingness to:
    • Work weekends (typically Saturdays) for releases/maintenance (probably once a month).
    • Occasionally work off-hours
  4. Team is transitioning from VMware to EKS, and on-prem to cloud
  5. Healthcare experience is a plus (HIPAA familiarity)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across IT teams to implement automation in AWS and CI/CD platforms
  • Monitor and optimize AWS infrastructure (EKS Kubernetes)
  • Script automation using Python, Groovy, Bash, AWS CloudFormation
  • Manage Linux/Windows environments, container orchestration (Podman, Kubernetes)
  • Support DR and audits

Work Breakdown

  • 30%: CI/CD pipeline setup, deployments, change management
  • 60%: Automation scripting, system monitoring, container orchestration
  • 10%: Disaster recovery, audits, staying current with DevOps/cloud trends
