Looking for a Finance/Data Analyst who will assist in measuring private asset portfolios and their constituent holdings reliably and frequently. This in turn helps their asset owners and asset manager customers have confidence in the valuations and performance measures they are using to steward their portfolios. The job requires knowledge of data analysis, statistics, potentially machine learning, aspects of the finance domain and extensive experience with Excel, as well as R or Python. This unique role directly impacts how the finance industry operates in private markets and it furthers their mission to set the standard for private market measurement.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather requirements, write/assist with functional and technical specifications and implement product enhancements directly, as required.
  • Integrate with engineering and science teams executing overall project plans.
  • Proactively engage client staff to seek out enhancements/ feature requests.
  • Refresh data as needed and run product/database queries on behalf of client.
  • Create / write new queries as requested by client.
  • Assist with enrichment of data.
  • Work with data science team (including new model development), as needed
  • Document technical specs for development and management approval.
  • Monitor and track development, provide status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Train and answer questions raised by client staff.
  • Help manage the overall client relationship:
  • Assist with the preparation and review of client deliverables.
  • Assist with addressing Ad Hoc reporting requests
  • Track and monitor any client user feedback
  • Present results to client
  • Work to proactively identify and address data issues.
  • Proactively monitor/ source and track data for input into products.
  • Participate in technical implementation/ coding of the features.
  • Assist senior staff with developing marketing materials, creation of presentations.

ESSENTUAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excel and data presentation skills.
  • Private market data and finance domain expertise.
  • Strong analyst skills.
  • Requirements gathering, spec writing capabilities.
  • Willingness to work directly with data and ensure quality.
  • Likeable, communicative and responsive to client and team needs.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • Data, R, Python experience.
  • Math and data science background.
  • Account management, project planning and project management skills.
