Position Overview
We are seeking a Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data models that drive business insights and decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong data modeling skills, deep knowledge of Power BI, and hands-on experience in data analytics, SQL, and ETL integration.
Must have Skills:
Power BI, Power Query (M), DAX, SQL Server / Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Excel, SharePoint, Python / R (optional)
Key Responsibilities
1. Power BI Development

• Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
• Create and maintain data models (star/snowflake schemas) for efficient analytics.
• Build and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, and custom visualizations.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access permissions.
• Ensure optimal performance tuning of Power BI datasets and reports.

2. Data Integration & Modeling

• Connect Power BI to various data sources (SQL Server, Azure SQL, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, Data Lakes, etc.).
• Work closely with ETL / Data Engineering teams to design and maintain robust data pipelines.
• Cleanse, transform, and prepare data for analysis using Power Query (M language).
• Design and maintain semantic models and tabular datasets in Power BI Service or Analysis Services.

3. Analytics & Insights

• Translate business requirements into actionable BI solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify KPIs, metrics, and trends for analysis.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis, data exploration, and storytelling through visuals.
• Validate data accuracy and maintain consistency across multiple reports.

4. Deployment & Governance

• Manage report deployment, workspace organization, and version control.
• Implement Power BI Service administration, including gateways, refresh schedules, and permissions.
• Contribute to BI governance, best practices, and data quality standards.
• Automate data refresh and monitor report performance using PowerShell or APIs.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 8 years of experience in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Expertise in DAX and Power Query (M language).
• Strong SQL skills for query optimization and data transformation.
• Experience with data modeling, normalization, and dimensional modeling.
• Familiarity with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, etc.).
• Proficiency in Excel, Power Pivot, and Power Automate is a plus.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and cloud data sources (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or similar.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Familiarity with Python / R for data analysis.
• Experience integrating Power BI with SharePoint, Dynamics 365, or other business systems.
• Exposure to Agile / DevOps environments for BI solution delivery.
