Description

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Worcester, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract opportunity with a focus on maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure for a fast-paced and diverse organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, where multiple projects are actively managed, and continuous learning is encouraged.

Responsibilities:
Perform high-level network troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Implement architectural requirements and translate them into engineering solutions.
Monitor servers and network hardware to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Collaborate with the networking director and team members to manage changes and maintain efficiency.
Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network components.
Support multi-disciplinary projects by implementing network solutions and providing technical expertise.
Automate network operations using Python scripts and other tools to enhance efficiency.
Oversee IP management and utilize cell service tools where necessary.
Assist with ticketing and provide network support as needed.
Participate in datacenter projects, including setting up network fabrics and optimizing operations.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer.
Proficiency in Juniper technologies, including routers and switches, is essential.
Expertise in Aruba Wireless and Palo Alto Firewalls.
Strong knowledge of network routing and switching protocols.
Experience with automation tools and scripting, particularly Python.
Familiarity with datacenter operations and network fabric setups.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Bonus: Previous experience in higher education institutions is preferred.
