Systems Administrator Senior

Our work depends on Systems Administrator Senior joining our team to provide in-depth knowledge and expertise to a secure communications project for the Department of State.
HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
Perform systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
Provides and applies engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools
Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Requires an engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux
Security Clearance Level: Active Secret Clearance is required
Required Skills and Abilities: Strong technical communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
Preferred Skills: Experience with Splunk, ScienceLogic, VMWare products (such as vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon VDI). Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, and/or C#. Experience managing Active Directory including group policies and DNS.
Location: Full time on customer site in Springfield, VA

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
