Job Title: VMware Deployment professional

VCF Deployment Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VMware professional to join our team. We don't just need someone to help us deploy VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9; we need a seasoned expert who can take on the day-to-day operational responsibilities of our existing VMware environment. This will free up our team to collaborate with client and focus on optimizing the new VCF 9 deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve complex issues within the core VMware platform, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
- Operational Management: Oversee VM lifecycle management, resource optimization, and day-to-day administration of our virtualized infrastructure.
- Performance Tuning: Fine-tune system performance to ensure optimal operation and efficiency.
- Upgrades and Patching: Manage patching and upgrades using VMware Lifecycle Manager (vLCM).
- Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. This includes working with PowerCLI, Python, REST APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Integration: Ensure seamless integration with NSX-T and the Aria Suite.
- Deployment Support: Assist in the deployment of VCF 9 by handling ongoing operational tasks, allowing the core team to focus on the new implementation.
- Core VMware Platform Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of vSphere 8, with a focus on advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Expertise in vCenter Server and ESXi host administration.
- Experience with storage policies, configuration, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing DRS, HA, and vMotion.
- Automation & Development:
- Familiarity with event-driven automation using the VMware Event Broker Appliance (VEBA).
- Hands-on experience with VMware automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerCLI, Python, and REST APIs.
- Experience in VMware Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation) and blueprint development.
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions and integrating CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with custom workflows in Aria Orchestrator (vRO).
- Knowledge of credential rotation and secrets management via API.
Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $90.00 to $100.00 per hourly on C2C. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
