Job Description -

Top 3 technical skills that are required for the role:

  1. PLC programming using Allen Bradley RSLogix and HMI programming using Allan Bradley Factory Talk Studio.
  1. Establishing and troubleshooting communications between devices using serial (UART, I2C, RS485, etc.) protocols and devices using industrial ethernet (Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, Modbus, etc.) protocols.
  1. Machine vision programming using Cognex and/or Keyence vision systems.

Must Have

  • 5+ Years of Automation Engineering
  • 5+ Years Controls Engineering
  • Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • High appreciation for engaging with cross-discipline teams to understand and guide requirements.
  • Proficiency in HMI programming using FactoryTalk View Studio.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming using Allen Bradley RSLOGIX.

Nice To Have

  • Proficiency in creating PLC and HMI programs using pre-written code standards and templates.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW programming for data acquisition.

As a Controls Engineer, you will be a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Sustaining team that supports the design, development, improvements, and production of new and existing products within the Boulder Colorado Manufacturing site.

A Day in the Life of a Controls Engineer:

  • Oversee development of assembly and test equipment required for new and existing products.
  • Participate and provide technical advice in project meetings and cross functional team meetings.
  • Interpret, plan, and develop technical and financial specifications of prototype and production assembly equipment.
  • Perform equipment design reviews and approvals.
  • Manage vendor adherence to equipment specifications.
  • Oversee manufacture and qualification of assembly and test equipment.
  • I participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing activity, providing assembly and test equipment documentation, engineering reports and validation protocols.
  • Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety policy and procedures.
  • Evaluation of new and existing machinery for adherence to all applicable ANSI and OSHA safety standards.
  • PLC programming, updating, and troubleshooting of new and existing production equipment.
  • HMI programming, updating, and troubleshooting of new and existing production equipment.
  • Vision system integration, updating, and troubleshooting of new and existing production machinery.
  • Data acquisition system integration and troubleshooting of new and existing production machinery.
  • Perform Measurement System Analysis and Gage R&R of new and existing production machinery.
  • Commits to achieving and exceeding project goals and timelines.
  • Perform duties in compliance with the Quality System.
