Job Details

Job Title: Actuary Analyst Personal Lines Rate Filings

Location: Remote
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Pay Rate: $56/hr W2 ONLY, NO C2C

Responsibilities:




  • Lead and support personal lines rate filings (Auto and Umbrella), including direct engagement with state Departments of Insurance (DOIs).


  • Independently review and provide feedback on rate filings prepared by junior analysts, ensuring actuarial soundness and strategic alignment.


  • Anticipate and address DOI objections with thoughtful, data-driven responses that support filing integrity and business goals.


  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure filings reflect current trends, regulatory expectations, and competitive positioning.


Qualifications / Education:




  • Bachelor s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field.


  • 4+ years of actuarial or analytical experience, with at least 2 years focused on personal lines rate filings in the United States.


  • ACAS or FCAS designation required.


  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Visual Basic or similar programming languages preferred.


  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex regulatory environments.


  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.


  • Experience managing DOI inquiries and objections with professionalism, accuracy, and strategic insight.

Daily Duties Using the Above Tools:




  • Prepare, review, and submit rate filings using Excel models and Word documentation.


  • Analyze and interpret regulatory data, leveraging Excel for scenario testing and validation.


  • Create PowerPoint presentations to communicate filing strategies and outcomes to stakeholders.


Additional Details:




  • Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience leading Auto and Umbrella rate filings.


  • Must demonstrate independence, accuracy, and attention to detail in regulatory and data-driven environments.


  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and state regulators.
