Job Title: Project Manager Workday (NextGen) Implementation
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 12 Months (Contract to Hire)

Job Description:

The client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and support its transition from the State Enterprise PeopleSoft system to the NextGen (Workday) application. The successful candidate will coordinate with ERP service providers and internal Finance and Human Resource teams to ensure a seamless and timely implementation of Workday at the agency level.

This role reports to the agency's Deputy Commissioners of Finance and Human Resources, as well as the Office of Information Technology Project Management Officer.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the CFO and HR Director in planning, coordinating, and aligning ERP transition activities with the state's PeopleSoft-to-Workday rollout schedule.

  • Facilitate collaboration between Finance, HR, and Procurement subject matter experts.

  • Communicate project updates and timelines to agency stakeholders.

  • Lead and facilitate stakeholder meetings across departments.

  • Monitor and track project milestones, risks, and performance metrics.

  • Report progress and critical issues to senior leadership.

  • Coordinate with Workday PMO and QA teams to enforce new standards and quality objectives.

  • Ensure staff are equipped with necessary tools and training for a smooth transition.

  • Proactively manage project timelines to avoid schedule conflicts or delays.

  • Lead formal testing reviews and user acceptance processes.

  • Foster productive relationships with sponsors, vendors, and internal clients.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years direct experience with Workday (NextGen) implementation (Required)

  • 3+ years experience managing enterprise-level Workday implementation projects

  • 5+ years IT project/program management experience, preferably in a leadership capacity

  • Experience working with or within state government (Required)

  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant field; Master s degree preferred

  • PMP Certification from PMI or equivalent (Must provide proof)

  • Proficiency in MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, MS Teams, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience managing high-complexity projects within the last 2 years
