Electronic Warfare Lead Engineer (Level 5)

The Boeing Company is seeking an experienced Lead Electronic Warfare Integrator to serve as the engineering lead for the Electronic Warfare team in located in Berkely, MO.

As the EW lead for a major proprietary program, you will provide leadership and drive technical execution in the development of new EW systems integrated in a model based digital environment. You will be the technical lead for a team of engineers working with suppliers to develop and integrate EW subsystem. You will work with the manager for the EW systems team to ensure execution of program plans and design practices.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Drives technical excellence throughout all EW development activities.
  • Provides technical leadership and ensures common practices across programs.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Works closely with program managers, program chief engineers and other Boeing Teams to
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to EW Engineers.
  • Performs Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) functions for assigned mentees.
  • Drives best practices to meet programs' cost, schedule, quality and technical
  • objectives.
  • Captures lessons learned and best practices for implementation on future programs.
  • Researches a potential capability, hardware and architectures for program investment
  • Resolves complex problems impacting completion of program milestones
  • Coordinates with Boeing Executive Leadership and Customer Leadership on Technical Issues and Strategy

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (ship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 14 + years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 12+ years of work related experience with a Master's degree OR 10+ years of work-related experience with a PhD
  • Experience in technical leadership for EW programs
  • Experience with architecture decomposition and functional allocation
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering in the CAMEO tool suite
  • Experience in EW systems analysis, modeling simulation, design and testing
  • Able to travel 20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Master degree in Engineering
  • Experience in an avionics, electrical, and/or a mission systems role
  • Experience working in a lead role responsible for planning, organizing, and leading personnel to solve complex technical problems
  • Experience with program planning and IMS development
  • Experience developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems, requiring ingenuity and innovation
  • Experience providing technical and leadership skills mentoring to early career engineers
  • Familiarity with EVM / CAM responsibilities to support EW team manager

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
