Job Description:
We're looking for a talented..... SAP BRIM SOM Consultant with deep experience in Subscription Order Management (SOM) and billing solutions for high-volume data environments. This role sits within SAP's Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) suite and is not your traditional ECC or even standard S/4HANA deployment. Instead, it's tailored for usage-based billing in complex, data-driven sectors.
The role is SOM-focused, requiring expertise in order lifecycle management, orchestration logic, and integration with other BRIM components like:
SAP CI/FICA
SAP CM (Convergent Mediation)
SAP CC (Convergent Charging)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled SAP BRIM SOM Consultant to support the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Subscription Order Management (SOM) within the SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) suite. This role will be responsible for solution design, managing order lifecycle orchestration, and ensuring seamless integration with FICA-CI within BRIM.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation and customization of SAP SOM to support contract-based products and services.
Design and configure product modeling, order decomposition, and orchestration logic within SOM.
Collaborate with stakeholders across business (Sales, Product, Finance) to capture order management requirements.
Drive integration with Convergent Mediation (SAP CM), Convergent Invoicing (SAP CI), and FICA.
Manage end-to-end order lifecycle from quote to activation, ensuring data consistency and billing readiness.
Work with SAP Configuration and Development teams to build API-based with upstream systems.
Conduct solution fit-gap analysis and develop functional specs and system design documents.
Partner with testing and QA teams to validate SOM scenarios (activation, suspension, product changes, revisions, cancellations).
Provide post-go-live support, issue resolution, and system enhancements based on business feedback.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in SAP BRIM.
5+ years specifically in Subscription Order Management (SOM).
Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP BRIM modules, and SOM data models (order items, product bundles, technical resources).
Hands-on experience in order orchestration and integration scenarios.
Experience working with SAP CC, CI/FICA, and CM in a subscription business model.
Solid understanding of Master Data (Business Partner, Technical Resource, Product Bundles) and their impact on order processing.
Familiarity with SAP AIF, SAP PO/PI, and REST/SOAP-based integration methods.
Proven ability to collaborate across functional and technical teams in Agile or hybrid environments.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Integration experience using APIs, including REST/SOAP, SAP AIF, and PO/PI, is critical.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in industries such as telecom, media, utilities, or high-tech with subscription business models
Exposure to CRM/commerce systems integrated with SAP SOM.
SAP Certification in BRIM/SOM or S/4HANA is preferred.
