Job Details
The AIS Integration Architect will lead the design, implementation, and governance of Azure integration services-based solutions across multiple enterprise workstreams—including external partner integrations, identity & authentication, and event-driven architectures. This role combines architectural leadership with hands-on development to ensure scalability, security, and operational readiness. The Architect will establish frameworks and best practices that serve as a foundation for future AIS projects and managed services models.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
Define and document end-to-end integration architecture using Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management, Azure Functions).
Establish API-led connectivity patterns for external partner integrations, identity services, and event-driven architectures.
Ensure compliance with security standards (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, TLS) and enforce identity policies for Azure AD/Okta.
Design event-driven frameworks leveraging Service Bus, Event Grid, DLQs, retry/backoff, and performance baselines.
Hands-On Development
Actively develop critical components, proofs-of-concept, and complex integrations (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Data Factory).
Build reusable templates, connectors, and API implementations for scalable cloud deployments.
Configure CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), secrets management, and environment promotion strategies.
Troubleshoot and optimize performance (caching, pagination, connection strategies) in lower and production environments.
Governance & Best Practices
Create API style guides, coding standards, and reference implementations for AIS.
Enforce automated testing coverage thresholds; establish quality gates and code review processes.
Implement observability using Azure Monitor, App Insights, and centralized logging; define SLOs/SLIs for services.
Leadership & Delivery
Serve as technical authority for onsite/offshore teams; mentor Tech Leads and Senior Developers.
Lead sprint ceremonies with product and platform stakeholders; maintain clear Definition of Ready/Done.
Conduct architecture reviews and oversee backlog grooming aligned to roadmap and KPIs (velocity, MTTR, defect leakage).
Transition to Managed Services
Create operational runbooks, on-call rotations, and incident/problem/change management workflows.
Define a glide path for handover with checklists, knowledge transfer plans, and steady-state support models.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years in integration architecture; 4+ years in Azure Integration Services architect/lead roles.
Comprehensive knowledge of Azure Integration Services: Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management, Azure Functions.
Cloud deployments, VNETs, shared spaces, and multi-environment promotion strategies.
RESTful API design, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT; external IdP integrations (Azure AD, Okta).
Event-driven design with Service BEvent Grid; microservices and pub–sub patterns.
CI/CD with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions; infrastructure-as-code exposure is a plus.
Testing & QA: automated unit/integration tests, contract tests; Postman collections and collaboration workflows.
Certifications (Preferred)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Integration Services Architect (or equivalent senior certifications).
AWS/MuleSoft integration certifications (nice to have).
Soft Skills
Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
Ability to influence architectural decisions and drive consensus.
Mentorship mindset with high ownership and bias to action.
Tools & Platforms
Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management, Azure Functions).
Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Postman, Azure Monitor, App Insights.
Okta / Azure AD, Salesforce, AWS Gateway.
