This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise-level Windows environments, with a strong background in Active Directory, Group Policy, networking, and virtualization technologies such as VMware.
This role is critical to maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our distributed computing environment. You will work closely with engineers and support teams to implement, monitor, and optimize infrastructure systems that support business operations.

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise-level Windows environments, with a strong background in Active Directory, Group Policy, networking, and virtualization technologies such as VMware.
This role is critical to maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our distributed computing environment. You will work closely with engineers and support teams to implement, monitor, and optimize infrastructure systems that support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Active Directory, including user/group management, OU structure, and GPOs.
- Manage and troubleshoot Windows Server OS environments (2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025).
- Support and optimize VMware virtualization infrastructure, including VM provisioning, performance tuning, and resource management.
- Possess a strong understanding of network connectivity, DNS, DHCP, and firewall concepts, and collaborate with the networking team as needed.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across systems and services.
- Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Document procedures, configurations, and system changes
- Serve as Tier 1 triage for infrastructure support (e.g., disk space, patching issues, service account problems)
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated technical issues.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a systems administration or infrastructure support role.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere/ESXi or similar virtualization platforms.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices or experience working in an SLA-driven environment.
- Experience with DFS setup and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure AD, Intune, or hybrid cloud environments.
- Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, VMware VCP, CompTIA A+).
