SUMMARY
The Technical Systems & Reporting Analyst primarily supports integration and district reporting applications and provides secondary support for employee-based systems and other related applications. Duties will span the supporting areas of functionality, access, reporting, data quality of those environments. Analyst will be required to work and collaborate with personnel in all levels of the organization, in fast paced environment and be a self directed learner. Analyst will use a wide variety of skills and tools while having the opportunity to continuously learn and utilize new technologies.

Director of Applications & Data Management

DIRECT REPORTS:
None.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

DISTRICT DASHBOARD AND REPORTING SUPPORT 40%

1.1 Oversee the district dashboard and reporting (Tableau) environment

1.2 Develop and maintain data visualizations and data sources

1.3 Coordinate with district groups in standardizing and optimizing the way data/information is read and reported

1.4 Ensure all content, presentation and layout standards are followed to maintain a consistent look and fee to promote ease of usage by district staff

1.5 Maintain and facilitate user access to dashboards in a secure way to keep staff and student data safe

1.6 Explore alternative datasets to enrich and expand existing analytics

1.7 Meet with user groups to discuss the questions they want answered with district data

EMPLOYEE APPLICATIONS ADMINISTRATION AND SUPPORT 20%

2.1 Administers system security (e.g. authorization, access, read only, passwords, etc.) for the purpose of regulating access to the employee information system and ensuring confidentiality of employee records. Respond to security access requests and provide appropriate access based on role and proper authorization from management.

2.2 Identifies and corrects issues related to the employee information systems and software applications for the purpose of resolving user problems.

2.3 Monitors and maintains data quality and integrity for employee information related systems (e.g. student record updates, assessment records, attendance, scheduling, grading, transcripts, etc.)

2.4 Assists district and site staff on the use of employee information systems (e.g. new applications, upgrades, updates, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper and efficient use of system.

TECHNICAL SYSTEMS SECONDARY SUPPORT 40%

3.1 Act as backup to Technical Systems Manager in their absence

3.2 Create and maintain ETL processes using SQL to move data effectively and efficiently between systems

3.3 Maintain and update SQL Data Warehouse to include concise and simplified data to ensure fast recall in reporting tools (ie. Tableau)

3.4 Develop, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases, queries, and stored procedures as needs arise

3.5 Perform various data analysis as requested and develop data cleanup scripts or stored procedures if necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE
  • Associate's degree (preferably in Information Systems) or equivalent work experience
  • One to three years' experience working with SQL Server
  • One to three years' experience working with Tableau Server, Desktop, and Prep
  • One to three years' experience working with a HR/Finance System
  • One to three years' experience working with a Time Management System
  • One to three years' experience working with a Benefit Management System
  • One to three years' experience working with a Substitute Management System
  • One to three years' experience working with a Professional Development System
  • One to three years' experience working with a Document Management System
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based development environment
  • Comfortable working with unfamiliar technologies and willingness to learn new skills
KNOWLEDGE
  • Strong understanding of district and school operations
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and tools
  • Strong understanding of SQL and related tools
  • Strong understanding of dashboard and reporting concepts
  • Strong understanding of district reporting needs
  • Strong understanding of employee-based processes related to human resources, payroll, benefits, etc.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project applications

Starting Salary - $30.00 hourly or higher commensurate with equivalent work experience
This position is approved for the 2025/2026 school year and is eligible for insurance benefits.
