AI/ML + LLM Engineer 100% Remote
About the Role:
Walmart is looking for experienced AI/ML Engineers with strong LLM (Large Language Model) expertise to join its growing team in Sunnyvale. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence twice a week. The engineer will design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning solutions with a focus on natural language processing and generative AI systems that power Walmart's next-generation customer and associate experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, train, fine-tune, and deploy LLM-based solutions for real-world business problems.
- Build and optimize machine learning pipelines and infrastructure for scalable AI services.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to integrate AI models into production systems.
- Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art ML/NLP techniques and frameworks.
- Ensure compliance, security, and performance of deployed AI solutions.
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering (Python preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Anthropic, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of NLP, transformers, and model fine-tuning.
- Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and MLOps tools.
- Proficiency in building APIs and integrating ML models into production environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and prompt engineering.
- Background in distributed systems or high-performance computing.
- Exposure to reinforcement learning or multi-modal models.
