Job Title: Azure Data Engineer

Job Summary:
The Azure Data and Configuration Administrator will play a critical role in leading the data architecture and administration functions for a regional organization s enterprise systems. This individual will design, manage, and optimize data solutions in Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of data services. Primary responsibilities include cloud-based data modeling and storage design, implementing secure data access protocols, and collaborating with teams to support hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement a comprehensive Azure data architecture aligned with business goals
Build and manage enterprise data assets using Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse, SQL Server, and Data Lake
Develop and implement security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data masking
Monitor and resolve issues to ensure data services are highly available and reliable
Collaborate with stakeholders to define strategies for data retention, archiving, and backup
Support and guide data engineers and business analysts in data platform usage
Participate in architecture, design, and delivery of assigned database solutions
Document operational procedures and cross-train colleagues for continuity
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (required)
Minimum of 5 years of experience with database administration and cloud-based data systems
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services
Strong background in designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions
Special Requirements:
None specified, though relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise in Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL
Strong knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, Python, and PySpark
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Additional Desired Characteristics:
Experience developing enterprise-grade, data-driven solutions
Knowledge of data governance best practices
Prior experience working in both cloud and on-premises hybrid environments
Work Environment:
Remote-based role with occasional collaboration across distributed teams
Standard business hours with flexibility depending on project needs
Limited travel may be required
