Test Data Lead - ETL

Responsibilities:

• Define QA strategy for a hybrid ETL stack involving Informatica and dbt for transformation and modeling.
• Analyze Source-to-Target Mapping documents, business rules, and dbt model definitions to derive test scope.
• Plan and manage test phases across Program Increments or releases, including unit testing support, system testing, integration testing, and UAT support.
• Review and validate Informatica mappings, workflows, sessions, and parameter files.
• Validate source data extraction, data transformations via mappings, and load strategies to staging/ODS layers.
• Use SQL queries and data comparison tools for reconciliation and transformation validation.
• Monitor Informatica job runs and ensure correct execution paths.
• Validate dbt models, SQL logic, YAML configurations, and built-in/custom dbt tests.
• Execute dbt test suites and collaborate with analytics engineers to verify materialization strategies and source freshness.
• Perform data validation across all layers (source staging ODS analytics) using complex SQL and dbt tests.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and correct application of PII masking and data obfuscation.
• Build and maintain SQL-based test automation scripts.
• Integrate QA checks into CI/CD pipelines using git Actions.
• Monitor Informatica schedules and dbt job executions.
• Contribute to QA dashboards and automate test reporting.
• Log and manage defects in JIRA, categorize by layer and severity.
• Lead daily defect triage with data engineering teams and provide test status reports.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics engineers, data modelers, and product owners.
• Coordinate test data provisioning and masking.
• Participate in scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, retrospectives, PI Planning, and system demos.
