A top manufacturing company in Minnesota is looking for a highly motivated Production Engineer to work on-site for their team in Chaska. In this role, the Production Engineer will be primarily responsible for the technical management, maintenance, and development of new and existing production lines. About the Opportunity:



  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Hours: 9 hours a day (Mon to Thurs); 4 hours on Fridays


  • Some travel may be required for this position (5-20%)


Responsibilities:



  • Create new tooling/fixturing and processes/procedures for the introduction of new motors and/or the improvement of existing motors

  • Develop and maintain testing policies, procedures, and performance metrics

  • Understand and implement various machining, part creation/fabrication, and the measurement techniques, implementing GD&T best practices to assure part and assembly compliance

  • Investigate, assess, and resolve production issues effectively

  • Implement improvements to current operations to improve efficiency

  • Effectively communicate with suppliers to procure necessary tooling, fixtures, and equipment

  • Creat,e assemble, and test procedures for production hardware

  • Analyze layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency

  • Create, maintain, and refine detailed manufacturing. documentation (i.e. Operation Sheets, Routers, Set-up/Tooling sheets, etc.) through effective selection of manufacturing methods (inclusive of inspection point selection)

  • Generate, optimize, validate, and maintain C.N.C. Programs through the effective application of CAD/CAM software

  • Design efficient/safe tools and fixtures required to support electric motor manufacturing and operations

  • Generate accurate estimates (i.e. set-up, cycle time, material, etc.) using cost-effective manufacturing. methods

  • Perform other duties, as needed


Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in the design and manufacturing of Electric Motors

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • Experience in a production/operations environment

  • Working knowledge of electric motor and their components, the processes and techniques for manufacturing, and the equipment and methods for testing

  • Demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.

  • Microsoft Office proficient

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
