Our client is seeking a Network/Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT operations team. What You'll Do
As a Systems Administrator III, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing CoBank's network and systems infrastructure. You'll work across teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing systems, with a focus on Cisco networking, firewall management, and disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and upgrade Cisco IOS-based infrastructure (Catalyst/Nexus switches).
- Administer Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA VPN solutions.
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts to ensure uptime and data integrity.
- Perform system backups and recovery using tools like Zerto.
- Apply patches and deploy software upgrades to maintain security and performance.
- Troubleshoot network and system issues, escalating when needed to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to enforce compliance and best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Follow change management processes and handle ticketing workflows.
What You Bring
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in network and systems administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS (Catalyst/Nexus).
- Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA VPNs.
- Familiarity with backup/recovery tools (e.g., Zerto) and patch management.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and change management processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills-able to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Self-managed and proactive-comfortable working independently.
- Collaborative mindset-works well across teams in a hybrid environment.
- Detail-oriented-ensures accuracy in documentation and configurations.
