Job Summary:
The Senior Infrastructure Specialist assumes responsibility for the design and maintenance of the communications infrastructure under the purview of the Network Operations Manager. This role necessitates a comprehensive grasp of various IT and Radio technologies to ensure the seamless provision of Voice and Data communications across Offices, Pipelines, Plants, Meter Stations, and Block Valves. Crucially, this entails safeguarding the reliability of communications from remote devices to the SCADA system, ensuring adherence to pertinent specifications, policies, industry standards, and vendor-specific requirements for both existing and novel equipment. Furthermore, acting as a subject matter expert for communication aspects within Engineering Projects, this role extends to providing 24x7 on-call support.

Proficient in WAN, LAN, Wireless, and IP Systems
Profound understanding of SCADA systems and electrical/electronic systems
Analyze business requirements, formulate technical architecture, and design technical solutions accordingly.
Acknowledged as a proficient problem solver, crafting solutions, and suggesting alterations to standards and configurations based on problem resolutions.
Propose preemptive solutions to address potential concerns.
Advocate for workforce diversity and prioritize employee safety.
Provide strategic input for short and long-term initiatives within their technical domain.
Contribute to the development and testing of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plans pertinent to their technical area.
Maintain effective communication channels with management, IT, business clients, and vendors.
Liaise with vendors and service providers for architecture support and technical design development.
Lead midsize projects, overseeing the development and maintenance of project plans, including communication strategies.
Potentially involved in managing project budgets, encompassing both expense and capital allocations
Participate in the on-call rotation as a requisite aspect of the role.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking, or equivalent field experience.
7+ years of demonstrable and progressive experience in network automation and scripting.
Hands on experience with Service ticketing tools (Service Now)
Cisco or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Job Summary:
The Senior Infrastructure Specialist reports to the Manager, Network Operations and is responsible for designing, testing, deploying, and supporting the communications infrastructure. This role requires strong knowledge of various IT and Radio technologies to provide reliable Voice and Data communications to client Offices, Pipelines, Plants, Meter Stations, and Block Valves.
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Infrastructure Specialist include:
Ensuring Reliable Communications
o Ensure the reliability of communications from all remote devices to the SCADA system, making certain that the communication systems are designed and follow all applicable specifications, policies, industry standards, and vendor-specific requirements for existing and new equipment.
Subject Matter Expertise
o Serve as a communications subject matter expert for Engineering Projects, providing on-call support to the SETW Gas Control centers and the SETW SCADA group.
Technical Knowledge and Design
o Demonstrate strong knowledge of WAN, LAN, Wireless, and IP Systems.
o Translate business requirements, create technical architecture, and design technical solutions.
o Understand SCADA systems and electrical/electronic systems.
Problem-Solving and Innovation
o Be seen as an expert in multiple product problem-solving, create solutions, and propose changes to standards and configurations based on problem resolution.
o Create and propose pre-emptive solutions to address other concerns.
Collaboration and Communication
o Promote workforce diversity and employee safety.
o Provide input to short and long-term strategies specific to their areas of technical responsibility.
o Provide input to the development of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning and testing as required for their area of technical responsibility.
o Communicate as required to management, IT, and business clients and vendors.
o Interface with vendors and other service providers on architecture and technical design.
Project Management
o Lead mid-size projects and develop and maintain project plans, including communications strategy.
o Participate in the management of project budgets (both expense and capital).
On-Call Responsibilities - On-call rotation participation is a job requirement.
